Solihull Gateway Club is a charity and leisure club for people with learning disabilities and Solihull Lions ran the annual barbeque at their day centre recently for the 10th consecutive year.

The special end-of-term barbeque took place at the Park View Centre in Solihull and, as for the past 10 years, past Presidents Paul Jolly, Ken Bates and Phil James helped to make it a success.

Lion Paul said, “The event was a celebration of the 10th year we have organised the barbeque. This isn’t like volunteering; it’s just a fantastic event that the three of us really enjoy doing for Gateway on behalf of Solihull Lions”.

David Hooper, of Solihull Gateway Club, added his thanks to Solihull Lions club and reiterated that Gateway is a local club affiliated to Mencap and run by a small group of volunteers, providing a range of leisure activities during a weekly meeting for approximately 50 people with a learning disability.
