The Mayor of Solihull unveiled a new memorial bench in Brueton Park on Tuesday September 11th The bench was erected by Solihull Lions Club, in honour of the late Betty Green, and her late husband Past District Governor, Lion Norman Green. Betty Green gave Solihull Lions Club a bursary before her death and so the club decided to spend some of the money on a bench in her and husband’s memory.

Solihull Lions Club arranged an official opening ceremony, to which Councillor. Ken Hawkins, the Mayor, attended and was asked to cut the ribbon and accept the bench into Solihull. Councillor Hawkins said, “It is lovely to do this. It is a really wonderful thing for the Solihull Lions to do. The bench will make a great addition to the park and help keep the memories of Norman and Betty alive”.
