Warwick Lions celebrate with Her Majesty looking on

Warwick Lions Club 52nd Charter Night was held at Warwick Castle on Thursday 12 October thanks to the generosity of a past President. A total of 50 Warwick Lions and guests walked in a group from the stables to the castle where they were welcomed by the Carnival Queen Leah Jayne Townsend, Carnival Princesses Mia Lane and Lauren Pawlick. After a drinks reception in one of the state rooms, the lions and their guests were conducted to the Great Hall for a 3 course meal followed by coffee and mints.

Following this all stood in silence in memory of Lion Barry Morris, a Lion with 12 year’s service who had died that week. Thereafter short speeches were given by Lion President Norman Winnett, the Mayor of Warwick Councillor Elizabeth Higgins and Lion District Governor Paul Anstice, who also presented a 40 year award to Lion Charles King-Smith
