Warwick Lions Carnival

Warwick Lions Carnival

Warwick Lions Club has decided, with considerable regret, that it is no longer possible to run a Carnival Procession through the town, but instead will be concentrating on the Fun Day in the Park for under 12s.

Up to 2011, the Police were able to control the procession, but in 2012 were unable to help as they were involved with the Olympic Torch procession on the day after Carnival Day, stretching their resources to the limits. This year budgets have been trimmed and the Police can no longer afford to control the procession and Warwick Lions as a charity cannot afford to pay for this to be done privately either.

Unfortunately, with no procession there is nothing for a Carnival Queen or Princesses to do, so there will be no Carnival Queen competition, but instead we'll be holding a fancy dress parade in the arena on the theme Children’s Books. A panel of Judges will award prizes based on 2 different age groups, up to 7 and under 12. There is no entry fee for the competition and even parents can join in!

Already booked for the Arena Events are Batteria Acid Band, Fit 2 Dance, JRCS Falconry and Taming Canines Dog Agility. There will be several breaks for Children’s Games with more prizes. Bring the children down and enjoy a Fun Day in the Park.

Admission to the Arena by a Souvenir Programme is only £2 for adults with free entry for children under 14.

Why not support this charity event and advertise in the Souvenir Programme?
