On the 5th October Balsall Common Lions held a Black Country Night featuring the singing and comedy duo "Dandy". The evening was attended by an audience of 143 and the feedback from them when leaving was that it was a very enjoyable night. During the evening we held a raffle in aid of Diabetes UK which raised £300. We offer our grateful thanks to those who supported this fund raising event.
At a recent Fellowship meeting a cheque for £350 was presented to Jeff Way the leader of the Balsall Common First Responders. The First Responders are part of the much larger organization First4Aid and they are all volunteers who rely entirely on donations. They are all trained to a very high standard by the Ambulance Service. First Responders are called upon if an ambulance cannot get to a patient within 8 minutes.
