Christmas Food Collection 17th – 18th December On December 17th/18th last year (2011) Dudley Lions Club members along with friends and other Lions were out working for their community. We held a Charity Food Collection at the new Tesco Extra store in Dudley. This year thank goodness no snow to contend with just a bit cool but we wrapped up warmly in cloaks and Christmas hats and had a good time doing what we enjoy helping in our community. Once again the customers came up trumps and we had a really good response, some people still threw money into our buckets but this we spent in store to add to the collection and what a collection, It weighed in at a massive 433.6kgs nearly half a ton of food items. This year the food went to help at The Black Country Food Bank. Dudley Lion President Sue Bird said ‘’ The People of our area and The Black Country are normally generous but this was exceptional, I would like to thank everyone who donated. A lot of people had a much happier Christmas because of their generosity’’. |
