Ordinary People doing Amazing Things

Shakespeare Lions launch a new charity Spectacles Collection Service

Lions Tony & George making a spectacle of themselves!

Shakespeare Lions are collecting used spectacles and hearing aids and sending them to deserving people in the third world. 1500 Lions Clubs across the UK collected over one million pairs of used spectacles last year.

The spectacles and hearing aids are tested, serviced and sent with a qualified team of opticians via the Lions Eye Health Programme.

Lions are particularly interested in early detection and timely treatment of diabetic eye disease, glaucoma and macular degeneration, and are famous for their eye care programmes in the U.K. and across the World.

Your local Shakespeare Lions Club are delighted that the following supporters have a spectacles collection bin clearly marked with the Lions logo:

Stratford upon Avon
Civic Hall, District Council Offices Elizabeth House, Harrison’s Optician’s, Morrison’s Supermarket, Rother House Medical Centre, Specsavers, Stratford Library, Tesco Supermarket, United Reform Church. Vision Express, Zeiss Optical Centre.

Henley in Arden
Andrew Tissington, Opticians.

NOW, please contribute your used spectacles, sunglasses, hearing aids, and budget glasses. This is a wonderful local and national charity that can help give the gift of vision or hearing back to a deserving person.

Please contact Lion Tony Jones 01789 295383 for further information or follow the story on our websites.
