Ordinary People doing Amazing Things

Let Me Entertain You……and he did!

On Saturday 12th March, 172 guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal before being well and truly entertained by Robbie Williams tribute act Ollie Hughes, who strutted around the stage in true Robbie style and got everyone out of their seats and dancing off the calories.

The occasion was Marston Green & District Lions Club’s 13th Annual Charity Ball and it was held for the first time at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham Airport.

As well as being entertained by Ollie, an excellent disco was also provided by our very own Roaring Success Lion, Paul Murphy.

Also much enjoyed by the guests was the Giant Tombola, which ran throughout the evening and dispensed a variety of prizes (those of you who have been to one of our Balls will know what this means!). An auction and raffle (which included 3 prizes generously donated by the hotel) helped to swell the funds raised, and the proceeds from the evening will be going to local charity St Basils (preventing youth homelessness) as well as other Lions charities.

The final accounts were not quite complete at the time of writing this but indications are that we have raised in excess of £2,500!

We would like to thank all our guests and everyone who supported the Ball and helped to make it such a success.
