REDDITCH LIONS CHILDREN-IN-NEED UP DATE

On Friday 14th. November, Redditch Lions Club were, as usual, collecting in the Kingfisher Centre for the BBC annual Children in Need Appeal. From 8.30 am. until 5.00 pm. Club members, family and friends collected from the people of Redditch, donations totalling almost £1300. For the present financial climate that we all find ourselves in, this is a very worthy amount.

Special thanks must also go to , W.H.Smith and Kerwoods the Solicitors who carried out their own appeals and passed their collections on to the Lions. The Calendar Shop also donated a number of 2009 calendars to be sold.

Finally, the help of local school girl, Rebecca Milner, who attends the Alcester Grammar School, for collecting on Friday morning. Rebecca is being part sponsored by the Club to go on a conservation trip to Mozambique with her school next year.

All in all, the results have been very satisfying and, again, seeing so many of the Clubs' regular supporters, who at this time of year, come and donate their own private collections for the Appeal.

The final exact amount that will be forwarded, will not be known for another few days. When it is known, the amount will be published on the Club's web-site, www.redditchlions.org.uk
