SOLIHULL LIONS DONATE £1,000 TO SKIN CHARITY

A charity that supports sufferers of the skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) has been given £1,000 from Solihull Lions Club.

The DEBRA charity works on behalf of all people but mainly children, suffering from this painful skin blistering complaint. There are only three EB units in this country, including one at Solihull Hospital.

Past President Lion Eric Hale handed DEBRA’s Andrea Newman the cheque for £1,000 on the eve of their Saturday 21st July appeal and tin collection in Solihull.

Eric said, “Solihull Lions Club is pleased to be able to meet the needs of DEBRA. DEBRA provides an expert team of nurses and social care staff to work direct with families for which it receives no direct government funding. Similar to many other needy and deserving causes, any help to raise the profile of EB will bring its own rewards”
