Shed those extra Christmas pounds

Shed those extra Christmas pounds

Sunday 30 December is the day to brush the mud off those boots, don your Santa hats or fluffy antlers and walk off some Christmas pudding whilst at the same time raising money for charity.

Join Knowle and Dorridge Lions for their 20th annual charity Festive Walk come rain, snow or fine sunshine and help them raise funds for their designated charities. This year they will be walking for Age UK Solihull, Marie Curie Cancer Care (Big Build Appeal), St Basils and other local causes.

Starting off from Baddesley Clinton National Trust House at any time from 10 am there will be a choice of 1.5, 5.5 or 8 mile sign-posted circular routes. These are along country lanes, canal towpaths and public footpaths, some with stiles and pass a number of pubs happy to serve refreshments.

After your walk collect your certificate and join the Lions for mince pies and mulled wine. As usual dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome providing they keep their considerate owners on a lead.

Entry is FREE but the Lions would appreciate a donation for our nominated charities. You may download a registration form to complete and bring with you to save time on the day. Why not download a sponsorship form and get your efforts sponsored for their nominated charities or designate your own special worthy cause.

Thanks to everyone who made the 2012 Festive Walk a record breaking success with over 1700 walkers and raising over £10,700 for our worthy causes. K&D Lions look forward to seeing you again this year on 30th December where we will hopefully break new records.
