Remembrance Sunday saw Shirley Lions members out in force both to march in the parade and also to steward the crowd at the Cenotaph.
Lion President Chris Burrows accompanied by Lion Pete Jones joined in the Parade which marches each year from the Royal British Legion Club in Shirley down the main A34 to St James Church where the Cenotaph is situated.
As the A34 is a main arterial route out of Birmingham, closing it down and providing diversions requires an army of volunteers, including many members of Shirley Lions, who man the various diversions and steward the crowd who have to stand in the middle of what is normally an extremely busy road.
Following the service the parade then marched back up the route to the Royal British Legion where all the volunteers enjoyed a well earned pint courtesy of the Legion.
