Wolverhampton Lions Club is twinned with Mornington Lions Club, District 201, Victoria, Australia.
Since our twinning we keep in regular contact by email and this month we were pleased to welcome Chris and Peter Burton of Mornington Lions Club to Wolverhampton.
Despite their busy schedule of meeting up with family and friends they found time to attend two club meetings where they gave us all a good insight into Lions in Australia, the work they do, the events they undertake and the fun they have.
The members and partners of Wolverhampton Lions Club then took Chris and Peter out for a meal on their last available date before departing our shores and heading back home to Mornington.
Before the meal there was an exchange of banners with Chris and Peter handing over a Mornington Lion Club banner to our Club President Andrew Coope and in return Lion President Andrew handed over a Wolverhampton Lions Club banner plus an MD 105 banner. At the end of the meal Lion President Andrew presented Chris and Peter with a gift each of a Lions Pen and also a gift of a Lions pen to take back and give to their Club President.
Everyone enjoyed being able to meet with members of our twinned club and Chris and Peter have invited club members and partners to visit Mornington next year (2014) when Mornington Lions Club is hosting their District Convention.
