Children in Need

Since the BBC’s Children in Need started, the generous people of the village of Potterspury have responded to the Towcester and District Lions’ collection for the charity. More than £400 in the last two years. Over £500 this Year! Thanks to all concerned.

Support for the Welfare of Seafarers

Towcester Lions Club President Len Holder presented a cheque for £1,000 to John Wilson, Chief Executive of Liverpool Seafarers Centre in Liverpool this week. The donation was made possible through sales of his two books of anecdotes “A Light-hearted Look at Seafaring” and “More of Len’s Stories.”

The books are available from Len and Ann Holder len@holder7.co.uk . The books are currently being sold in aid of The Mission to Seafarers to assist in the training of chaplains around the world who find themselves having to counsel seafarers who have been the victims of piracy.
