Towcester Lions support Deafconnect
Since they were founded nearly 100 years ago, Lions Clubs International have followed the idea of their founder Melvin Jones: "You can't get very far until you start doing something for somebody else." Since their early days Lions have been particularly supportive of charities working to improve eyesight and hearing. This weekend with the store's permission and through the generosity of shoppers at Waitrose, the Towcester and District Branch of Lions collected £447.55 for Deafconnect and other Lions Charities. Deafconnect works with deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deafblind people, their families and friends in this area.
Pictured collecting at Waitrose on Saturday is Lion Graham Edmonds who this week received a key award for recruiting new members to the Towcester and District Branch.
