Lion Eric Morris of Shirley Lions 

Lion Eric Morris of Shirley Lions was recently presented with a Melvin Jones Fellowship for his outstanding contribution to Lions Sight Services. For the past 15 years Lion Eric has been the Club’s spectacles collection officer and in that time has personally collected a staggering 78,000 pairs of spectacles which have been sent off to Chichester Lions initially and then on to the third world. Lion Eric has a network of 20 local collection points which are all visited on a regular basis. Whilst these include the traditional opticians, libraries and schools they also include the local undertakers! We believe this may be a record for one Lion but if there is another Lion out there who can beat this we would like to hear from you.
